Finding goodStats
goodStats appears in the macOS menu bar. The default modules are CPU, RAM and network. Click one to open the details panel, then use Settings at the bottom to configure the app. Use Quit at the bottom to close it.
If the menu bar is crowded, macOS may hide items behind the camera housing or other menu bar apps. Reduce the number of visible goodStats modules in Settings → Menu Bar or make space in the menu bar. At least one goodStats module stays enabled.
Make the menu bar yours
In Settings → Menu Bar, enable the modules you need. Drag each row by its three-line handle to set the order from left to right. Choose Symbol or Word for its label, then choose the reading style.
Command-drag the goodStats group in the macOS menu bar to move the whole group among other menu bar items.
Launch at Login
Enable Launch goodStats at login in Settings → General. If macOS requests approval, use the app's Approve in Login Items button or open System Settings → General → Login Items.
Understanding readings
Available readings depend on your Mac and what macOS exposes. New CPU, disk and network samples can need a short warm-up. Collection pauses during sleep and resets rates after waking.
Memory
Memory usage categories are estimates and may differ from Activity Monitor. Memory pressure comes from macOS notifications and can initially show that the app is waiting for a notification.
Network
Automatic network selection follows the primary route. Select a particular interface when you want its traffic, including a VPN interface. Received and sent totals are interface lifetime counters.
Network screenshots can show local IP addresses. Share only the information you want us to receive when contacting support.
Disk
Disk space can differ from Finder because goodStats does not include Finder's purgeable-space estimate. APFS volumes may share capacity. Read and write activity represents physical drives where macOS exposes counters.
Battery
Battery values depend on the Mac and readings made available by macOS. Battery health is cached for 30 minutes; use Refresh in the Battery panel to request a new reading. A Mac without an exposed battery may show no battery information.
Thermal
Thermal state describes system thermal pressure, rather than temperature in degrees. General CPU/GPU/SSD temperatures and fan speed are unavailable.
GPU
GPU shows hardware capabilities. It does not display system-wide GPU utilization or total GPU memory usage.
